How do I request materials from your organization?

If you are an inmate, just send a written request to us and we will send the materials to you on our booklist, free of charge. If you are a chaplain or warden, please send a written request and list the materials on our booklist that you would like, and we will be glad to send them to you.

How do inmates receive visits from the Christian Community?

UPMI works with churches and volunteers to connect with inmates and ex-inmates so that they find loving support within a new church family. Inmates must request a visit from others. All visitors’ names must be written on the prison’s visiting list before a visitor may visit. Many inmates request a visit from a Christian. (Mathew 25:35-46 KJV)

We have many volunteers throughout the world. UPMI’s home office, located in Verbena, Alabama has 8 to 11 workers / volunteers. (Isaiah 43:8-13 KJV)

“…It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Luke 5:31-32 KJV). What’s more, “this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:22-24 KJV).

Richard and Carolyn Bland
In 1980 Richard and Carolyn Bland began supplying the religious texts Desire of Ages and Steps to Christ to a prison chaplain for inmates of a local prison in Alabama. Their impact was so significant that they decided to organize a small group of volunteers from local churches to reach out to prisons everywhere. Today UPMI ministers to over three thousand prisons all over the world and has distributed over 70 million Bible Lessons, information pills Bibles, click and life changing books free of charge to prisoners and their families.
